Intro

The technology that is coming out through a.i. is moving so fast that sometimes I think that humans won’t be needed anymore.

If you are in the media, especially podcasting, broadcasting, blogging, or any other type of talk radio I know that you work tirelessly to put out good content. I know this was my life for many years.

Now on one hand, I’m enthusiastic about a.i. because I think the Zombie Apocalypse has already happened post Covid. Walking around a local supermarket yesterday, it was just strange.

Now on the other hand a.i. may kill thousands, if not millions of jobs. In the past media was very labor intensive.

Here is what is occurring from my observation. Regardless of what anyone tells you, as artificial intelligence evolves, it will take on the “characteristics of being human,” and it’s just a replica but it’s a really good one!

I’m about to play for you a piece of audio that I created using artificial intelligence just today using the following Original Content:

1). A YouTube video of a Truther Deborah Tavares.

2). The file was then uploaded to Cockatoo where it was uploaded and transcribed.

Now this is where it gets really interesting…

3). … Brand new artificial intelligence program known as NotebookLM provided by Google just launched. Yes, it is free for now. What does it do? It takes a PDF file, or a piece of audio or other files and converts it into a document that can be used for real research.

After it takes your file and converts it, there is something else that it does. It created an “audio summary” that sounds like a “short form podcast.” This summary document was 7 minutes and 7 seconds.

This is how the screen looks when NotebookLM assembles the research:

Here is the 7 minute 7 second summary, beautifully produced with a host and a guest. Guess what? NotebookLM did this creation in under 5 minutes.*

*In pre-recorded talk radio it takes a lot longer than 5 minutes.

This is 100% artificial intelligence. These are not real people and yet they sound real. Plus, there is something else you may not have picked up on. Ready? It is two artificial streams, talking to each other!

For those of us in the entertainment business, you’ll realize in the future that companies like iHeart Radio may be 100% ai driven!
