America, Civil War Is Almost Here!

Civil War

A Commentary About America’s divide by Mitch Santell

The clues are every whereas America is now so divided there is the strong potential for a civil war.

Look at how the Congress is acting and how all the Rule of Law is being ignored.

What started in Washington D.C. I can expect to expand across America.
Where is the first hot spot right now at the end of 2019?

It would be Virginia.

Believe me, dear readers, I am not making this stuff up.

My take is that we need not lose our heads (no pun intended). We need to stay prepared, calm, and at least keep our wits about us.

Virginia Militia Preparing in December 2019.

Things are getting really bad in Virginia. But this group isn’t going down without a fight.

Virginia – Monday morning, Law Enforcement Today reported on how Tazewell County, Virginia is crafting a militia to defend the Constitution in the state. And within hours, we were flooded with thousands of emails from people across the state – police officers, veterans, and patriotic Americans – who said they are joining.

And it’s a movement that’s gaining traction across the state.

Wrote one man:

“I am Vietnam vet, ex-police, retired and am behind your ideas 100% , anything I can do I would like to help.

I live in Franklin County, which voted down being a sanctuary city being the council is Democratic, a moonshine county giving up their guns is dumb.

The South gave up their flag, their statues and now they want their guns, sounds like Hitler’s Germany.”

Wrote another:

“There had already been rumblings locally about a militia being formed last month. We started carefully and quietly assembling patriotic Americans who are prepared to defend freedom at all costs.

American Tune

Lyrics:

Many’s the time I’ve been mistaken
And many times confused
Yes, and I’ve often felt forsaken
And certainly misused
Oh, but I’m all right, I’m all right
I’m just weary to my bones
Still, you don’t expect to be
Bright and bon vivant
So far away from home, so far away from home

I don’t know a soul who’s not been battered
I don’t have a friend who feels at ease
I don’t know a dream that’s not been shattered
Or driven to its knees
Oh, but it’s all right, it’s all right
For lived so well so long
Still, when I think of the road
We’re traveling on
I wonder what went wrong
I can’t help it, I wonder what’s gone wrong

And I dreamed I was dying
And I dreamed that my soul rose unexpectedly
And looking back down at me
Smiled reassuringly
And I dreamed I was flying
And high above my eyes could clearly see
The Statue of Liberty
Sailing away to sea
And I dreamed I was flying

Oh, we come on the ship they call the Mayflower
We come on the ship that sailed the moon
We come in the age’s most uncertain hour
And sing an American tune
Oh, it’s all right, it’s all right
It’s all right, it’s all right
You can’t be forever blessed
Still, tomorrow’s going to be another working day
And I’m trying to get some rest
That’s all I’m trying to get some rest

Homeless In South Orange County Calif

A Commentary That Has Me Nervous by Mitch Santell

Homeless San Clemente
San Clemente, California in 2019.

It has always been my view that until the truth smacks you in the face, you are not going to see it or listen to it or discuss what you have discovered with others.

Here in South Orange County, California, we are getting more and more homeless people. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will no longer enforce “anti-camping” laws here.

Homeless drug-addicted mentally ill people will not be driven out of Orange County by the Sheriff’s Department.

George Orwell society drifts

This is not a good thing at all.

South of where I live in South Orange County is beautiful new home developments that are selling for well over 1.1 Million Dollars (USD).

As I have said in previous blog postings and commentaries: There is no longer a safe place. Some places are safer than others. My take? The next 5 years will see Southern California continue to deteriorate, leading to more crime.

In 2018, all of the homeless camps were moved out of Orange County, but now we see them everywhere from San Clemente, Dana Point, and San Onofre.

Most of south Orange County will now be off-limits for anti-camping and loitering enforcement against homeless people until the cities create shelter beds as an alternative, under a closely-watched settlement finalized in federal court Tuesday.

“The Sheriff’s Department will not enforce anti-camping” laws in the south county cities it patrols until shelter is made available in south county, county Supervisor Andrew Do, who has publicly called on south county to provide shelter, told Voice of OC after the hearing.

The settlement requires that a shelter bed within the same zone of the county, such as south county, be offered and available before the county Sheriff’s Department can enforce the camping and loitering laws against a homeless person.

The department serves as the police force for about two-thirds of south county residents, covering 10 of the region’s 12 cities, none of which have agreed to build shelter in their jurisdiction since Carter asked them to in spring 2018.

Irvine and Laguna Beach have their own police departments and are not subject to the settlement, which was agreed to by county officials and lawyers for homeless people.

“This is a game-changer,” Carter told the courtroom Tuesday before signing off on the settlement, which the court can enforce for the next three years.

The new agreement calls on different regions of the county to make certain there’s a “respective responsibility” for homeless people, rather than “dumping off” homeless people from one area to another, Carter said.

“This stops that dumping. This stops that moving over the borders. Each [region of the county] takes care of its own. Each city takes care of its own,” Carter said.

“This is an exemplary document that the governor should know about,” the judge added, referring to the entire settlement. “It’s a role model for the state. It’s a role model nationally.”

The agreement bars the Sheriff’s Department from transporting homeless people outside of three defined geographic regions of the county, known as “SPAs,” one of which is south county, from Irvine to San Clemente.

The settlement was reached between county officials and Brooke Weitzman and Carol Sobel, attorneys representing homeless people who sued the county in early 2018 over the planned evictions from the Santa Ana Riverbed.

The agreement came in the widely-watched Orange County Catholic Worker lawsuit against the county government and several north county cities, rather than the south county lawsuit Carter was removed from last month.

Many issues and disputes will continue come up with individual cases of homeless people, both sides of the case acknowledged.

The settlement lets either side come back to the court if they believe the agreement isn’t being followed, or if there’s disagreement about how to apply the terms to a specific situation.

A comment from a local resident of San Clemente, California:

Naturally, none of the posers in the photo would stand for having homeless shelters built in their own neighborhoods. But since they have the power they have no problem doing it to you. And they have no problem suspending anti-camping or loitering or vagrancy laws with hopes that it creates chaos in your neighborhoods extorting you to accept hundreds of homeless who aren’t even residents of your cities. More don’t do as I do. Do what I say.

And where is the Homeless Czar Susan Price? Isn’t she supposed to be the brains of the operation? Why no face time? I don’t even know what she looks like let alone what she does to earn her county paycheck. Has anyone ever interviewed her on the homeless problem? Is she allowed to speak with the media or the public?

This is nothing more than a money-making scam for friends of those in power who are contracted to provide homeless services. San Francisco, Seattle, Portland and Los Angeles followed the same strategy. Result? Homelessness increase fourfold or more. Just like the county’s stupid “Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness” fiasco that siphoned tens of millions of taxpayer dollars while the homeless population quadrupled with over 1000 camped on on the Santa Ana riverbed! lol. All their beard-scratching buddies in the think tanks made six-figure salaries and accomplished exactly nothing.

And none of these plans place any obligations on the homeless – no mandatory work programs, no mandatory sobriety, no regular mandatory drug or alcohol testing for those receiving free taxpayer goods or services, no mandatory institutionalization for the severely mentally ill, no mandated path to self-sufficiency.

This is no solution. It just pours more fuel on the fire. Another ‘feel-good’ program that punishes the taxpayers and rewards the freeloaders. Watch it attract more freeloaders from out-of-county and out-of-state to load up on all the free stuff. Just like in the aforementioned liberal hellholes.

But suspending laws to punish cities is about as low as it goes. And for Chief Barnes to agree to this selective anarchy only tells us that he’s fully complicit. His job is the ENFORCE the laws on the books to protect the community – not ignore them and hang the taxpaying residents who fund his fat $400,000 compensation and cadillac pension out to dry.

These aren’t civil servants. They’re kings and queens and paid pawns.
