A Commentary On The State of Hollywood in 2020 by Mitch Santell
For those of us who follow Hollywood, are a part of Hollywood, or have a Family History in Hollywood, 2020 has never looked so bizarre.
Regardless of how you feel about Trump, for those of us in the middle of another Covid-19 lockdown in California, we are happy that these celebrities, narcissists, and producer sociopaths can’t be worshiped right now.
Think about it, do you really miss all those talk shows?
Who is the most deceptive talk show host in Hollywood?
Answer: Ellen Degeneres.
If we rewind back to the 1990s, there as a time where comedians and talk show hosts actually helped each other.
One of those Comedians was Gary Shandling, who was way ahead of his time with the launch of the Larry Sanders Show in the early 1990s.
The Larry Sanders Show was a massive hit on HBO, and prominent celebrities in Hollywood wanted to be a guest because, behind closed doors, the show was a bit more real than most people wanted to admit.
The way that Gary Shandling could transfer is own paranoia of Hollywood into Larry Sanders’s character was phenomenal. The cutting edge use of video for Larry Sanders on camera and using film when the show was off the air was brilliant and gave the show a real “reality TV” feel.
Poor Ellen Degeneres, we know she had happier days, right? Here is what I think may have happened to our sweet Ellen. In watching her, I think she may have left the gratitude she once had. It’s a sociopathic type of behavior. Even when Ellen was interviewed in David Lettermen’s Netflix (Santa Clause Interview Show), Ellen presented herself as this deeply caring and sensitive person. The truth is she gets off of pranking people.
While The Larry Sanders Show was a “fictionized version” of producing a hit late-night talk show, even Fred de Cordova (Executive Producer) of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson often stated that (and this is a paraphrase) that The Larry Sanders Show was more real than you could ever imagine.
Now that you have a sense of what is going on in Hollywood, here is a clip from The Jeff Rense show last night. This is an authentic dialogue of what is really going on:
