Freedom Of Speech Is A Precious Gift

Freedom of Speech

Commentary by Mitch Santell

Regardless of what anyone tells you, there is no more precious a gift than Freedom Of Speech. For so many of us here in America, our form of this specific freedom are the millions and millions of blog postings we put up each day expressing different points of view.

The mainstream media in America has lost its mind since the 2016 election.

Even though I have been a traditional moderate democrat since I turned 18 in 1975 in 1980, I became what is known as a “Ronald Regan Democrat.”

Interest was at 21%, and gas prices were too high, and America was dealing with the hostage crisis in Iran.

Are you old enough to remember those times?

There was one bizarre thing that happened after I voted for Ronald Reagan and he took the oath of office.

Do you want to know what it was?

Here is my take on this and I remember it like it was just yesterday:

Since the Democrats lost the White House in 1980, the party as a whole, became “sore losers.”

The reason that so many moderate and conservative Democrats voted for Ronald Reagan was they did not want to high-interest rates. The general public was tired of high gas prices. President Reagan ran for public office by promising to reduce regulations on business.

Does this sound familiar? President Trump, like President Reagan, got rid of regulations to help a business succeed.

In 2019, there is no such thing as being a moderate Democrat. These people don’t exist anymore. Where have these people gone?

They all switched to the Republican Party even if they are a RINO (Republican In Name Only). They have become independents, or they are looking for a new party to join.

Freedom of Speech is so precious to the American DNA that if you are in Europe, Asia, Russia or even in the middle east, the real fight is here in America, and it’s a fight for ideas.
